Playing Catch-up

Yes, I know it's been awhile since I've updated this blog and I do apologize. I know you've all been anxiously awaiting news of what we've been up to lately. :) The last few weeks have been a little busy and I'm finally having a chance to sit at the computer for a little while and download the pictures off my camera.

The last weekend in May, I made a quick trip to Memphis, TN for a cousin's wedding. I went with my mom and sisters for a little girls' trip, which meant Kyle was home with the kids for the weekend. As always, they did great together. To brag on him, he had to take care of the kids and take everyone to 2 baseball games, 1 birthday party, and church on Sunday. And everyone was in a good mood when I got home! We had a good time visiting family that we don't get to see often and the wedding was beautiful. Between the rehearsal dinner, the lunch reception, and the family dinner get-together, almost all of our meals were paid for - you gotta love trips like that! We also had a chance to visit Graceland. Not being an Elvis fan and really not knowing much about him, I wasn't too excited about this part of the trip, but ended up really enjoying it. It was very interesting and quite fun to tour the estate, airplanes, and automobile museum.

I got home just in time for the last week of school. To add to the craziness, I found out Monday morning that I got to play room mom for Andy's class party on Thursday because the real room mom couldn't do it. So I spent some time grocery shopping and putting together party favors for 22 kids and the teacher. You'll be glad to know that even though I didn't have the cutest room, the kids didn't know or care and they were happy with their party favors.

We also had Andy's end-of-the-year kindergarten program and awards assembly. The program was really cute. His favorite song was the presidents song where they sang the U.S. Presidents in order. As he was practicing this song in the days before the big performance, he kept asking me for help. Unfortunately for him, I do not know the order of the presidents, but thankfully he said he'd teach me this summer! Oh good, something to look forward to. He received several awards, said good-bye to his teacher and friends, and is looking forward to 1st grade!

This is the picture of him winning the Dragon Award with the other 2 winners and the school mascot.
