So this is a picture of our newest toys. Andy and Colin got these little dinosaurs last week and I took the picture beside a sippy cup so you'll know how small they are. They're made of rubber and filled with something sand-like because they're really squishy. I discovered today that Ryan and Elizabeth are scared of the dinosaurs. Elizabeth was a little afraid, but thought it was kind of funny when I would make the dinosaurs walk towards her. She had that half-giggle, half-scared scream going. Ryan, however, just cried. I thought it was rather funny because he's our fearless climber who's now scared of a 3-inch rubber dinosaur. Our children are not brave. So, being the good mom I am, I placed the dinosaurs on either side of the TV in hopes that it would keep the two little pests from messing with the TV buttons. I can't decide if this is cruel, funny, or effective creative discipline, but so far it's worked! Of course, they've only been there for 30 minutes, so we'll see how the afternoon goes.

Fierce Dinosaurs

Luke is scared of Jacob's 1 baby doll (Cabbage Patch Kid) he cries when he sees it. He is otherwise pretty fearless so I think it is funny too.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of putting them by the TV - very creative.
Just an idea....in order to keep Joshua from pushing the buttons, we used duct tape so he couldn't see the buttons...it didn't work for very long, but maybe it's worth a shot!
ReplyDeleteVery cute story about the dinosaurs. I can totally relate to the non-brave children..got one of my own! :)
I think it's sort of cute too when they get scared and grab onto mommy for dear life over a dinosaur or thunder or a bear mask!! I think I'd keep the dinosaurs near the TV to ward off the babies! It's not cruel, just effective!
