Girl Time

My pedicure - $20
Elizabeth's polish - $3
Hearing Elizabeth tell me "I like girl time, Mommy!" - priceless

Independence Day 5K

On June 19, 2010, Andy very happily ran his first 5K!!! He was really looking forward to it and it was as much fun as he had hoped. Even though he took several walking breaks, he completed the race in 36 minutes. We are very proud of him! And he is super proud too! Getting the trophy for being the youngest runner just makes it even better!

Too Sweet for Words

They certainly don't always get along this well, especially in the car, but this picture was too cute not to share. I'll update about our vacation later, but this was taken in the car on the drive back to Atlanta.

Best Friends

I know I need to play catch up on here, but I wanted to post this before I forgot it. This is why I started this blog in the first place - to record my kids' lives. It's not necessarily interesting to everyone else, but it is to me. This picture was taken on vacation when we "hiked" the Appalachian Trail.

While leaving the gym this afternoon, Andy and Colin had their heads bent together talking about what they had done at the gym and making plans for next time. And there was lots of giggling and whispering. So I said, "It sounds like you guys are best friends." They both looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Yeah, of course we are!" Then they carried on with their planning and giggling.

It's times like these when they melt my heart!

Go Astros!

A few weeks ago, the Houston Astros celebrated Little League Day. Andy's team participated in the parade and Colin was fortunate enough to tag along. They're both on Astros teams this year, just in different age groups, so he looked like he belonged. A great time was had by all!

The Endless Wait

Parade Time!

ASTROS!

Running the bases - the very best part!

Parents of 5!

It was only for a weekend. Whew! Our nephew, Shane, spent last weekend with us. He's 9 months younger than Elizabeth and Ryan, so we got a taste of what triplets would be like. It's a good thing Shane is eternally happy because he certainly likes to get into everything! Actually, it turned out to be a really good weekend, but we packed as much in as possible. We had baseball practice, a birthday party, a baseball game, a parade, a trip to the park, Mother's Day, church, and Andy's family birthday swim party! The kids were all really good and even gave me breakfast in bed (at 6:45am!) for Mother's Day. Well, I think that's what I got, but with 5 children in the bed, I'm pretty sure I didn't get a bite of that breakfast!

First Swim of the Season!

A few weeks ago, we came home from a really hot day outside and the kids asked to go swimming. The water wasn't quite warm enough to get in for long and it was dinnertime, so we let the kids play on the steps. Sorry, since they were only going to be in for a short while, we didn't bother to find their swimsuits either! :)
